 "Super shopping trollies" 2010-04-07
By Laura Yummy Mummy (Staffordshire, UK)
We purchased this for our 2 1/2 year old son and he loved it. It can be quite a long game if you are only playing with 2 people especially for a little one but it is great tool for teaching the children to match items and also recognising everyday products that we all buy. We sometimes also adapt the basis of this game when we go real shopping to make it more fun for our son now! Highly recommended game.

"Loved by my 3 year old" 2010-03-22
By R. S. Dixon (Cambridgeshire)
This is a superb game, my 3 year old would play it endlessly if we would play with her all day! She plays at least 4 or 5 games a day and it is improving her understanding of games / taking turns / winning & losing. It is a simple game and she has learnt all the products on the lists. We got it as a gift & to be honest weren't sure if it would be much fun but couldn't have been more wrong..... I think it is really worth the investment.

 "A fab purchase" 2010-03-20
By Ms. J. GREAVES (UNITED KINGDOM)
I really like this game and my 3 year old daughter loves it too. I bought it for her 3rd xmas this year as she was very into her shopping trolley and cash register with the various elements to buy. I figured this would be an alternative option of playing for her and I was right! It was her first introduction into board game style entertainment and it has been teaching her about taking turns and how to be a happy loser, although I quite often let her win! As it is often just her and I playing we tend to have two trolley/shopping lists each. I loved this so much I have just recently purchased two more to give as presents for little friends of our's. They were two boys, proving this game is ideal for both sex.

I bought this for my 5 year old granddaughter and she tells me she has enjoyed playing it with her older sister. The novelty however, does wear off after some time, but there are many more games in the range.

 "Unfit for purpose" 2010-01-05
By Mrs. N. A. Reed (Monmouth, Wales)
Bought this for my 2 year old as he always wants to play with Mummy's steering wheel. It is cheap and plastic the phone and keys drop of constantly. Impossible to fit in car securely. Have to fit whilst in the car & can't open door to get child in/out without taking it off. Stays on for max 5 mins before it falls off and 2yr old cries for it to be stuck back up making it a nightmare unless you have a passenger. Not designed with car seats in mind either as the leg on the seat means it has to go in at an angle. I could go on... What ever happened to the ones that just stuck to the back of the front seats?Casdon 214 Toy Backseat Driver

By Sally (Liverpool UK)
I was disappointed when this toy arrived because of the high rating it had in Amazon. It is tiny and not a lot of fun as the bits just come out the holes at random. My daughter did not take to it at all. It is also quite hard and dangerous in the hands of an 18month if thrown around.wooden peek a boo ball

 "fun and sweet" 2009-12-21
By bookworm mummy
I think this a very sweet little toy, it is smaller than I imagined - but then again it is really quite cheap for a well made wooden toy. Its lovely and tactile with very cute little faces. The size actually works in its favour - great for chucking in your pocket or handbag for out and about. I don't really understand the criticism about it being dangerous if thrown - its a wooden ball - what do you expect? Any hard wooden object is going to be dangerous if thrown about, my son has wooden cars and rattles ... in fact many wooden toys as we try to avoid the hideous plastic stuff churned out in mass, yet do not worry about him lobbing them around! He is the youngest of 5 and I have yet to find throwing toys around the house an issue. I think this is a great toy and so does my son.

 "Lovely little creation." 2009-10-13
By L. Sullivan (Manchester N W England)
This ball is a lot smaller than I imagined that it would be. However, saying that, it is so sweet, and let's face it, it is for small babies. It feels lovely in your hand, and is very well made. My 8 month old grandson can pick it up and hold it, so perhaps it's a good job it's so small. I can understand about it being dangerous to be thrown indoors. My grandson is happy to try and crawl after the ball when it is rolled in front of him. But I would probably put it away for the next child before it is treated like other balls, as it could cause some damage. On the whole, it is a lovely little smooth ball, fabulous workmanship has gone into it. And it's designed for little babies I would say. So it is a 'gentle & cute' product.

 "very hard when thrown!" 2009-06-06
By sam (surrey)
i brought this toy for my 18 month old son having read good reviews about it to carry around in his bag when out and about. He really liked it at first, however we soon discovered that as its made from solid wood, it is very dangerous when thrown aimlessly by him for someone to catch! Its also very dangerous indoors, as he has thrown it towards the tv and display cabinet at times, therefore i have had to get rid of it now as it was proving to be rock hard, not suitable for group play either incase one of the children were to throw it and seriously hurt someone.

This is brilliant for our 8 and a half month old baby girl. We make them pop up and act surprised and she laughs out loud and then rushes to put them all down, she has it down to a fine art now. She loves playing with it every day and is starting to make the animals pop up herself which she loves. If your baby is interested in the world then this is a great toy to have.

I wanted a Pop up toy just like my own children had as youngsters for my 18 month old grandson! Nothing has changed in 20 odd years - my two children loved it then and so does Jack, my grandson! Took a few weeks to master all the different ways to make the animals pop up but he still loves it and gets it out of the toy box many times!

 "Nice toy" 2010-03-22
By S. Brockett (UK)
This is a nice toy with lots going on, but it didn't capture my 6 month old grandson's attention as much as I thought it would looking at other reviews before I bought it. He prefers to look through a book or bang a couple of plastic cups together!

 "Roll me!!" 2009-11-10
By Frances Mollins (Elgin, Scotland)
Firstly I will say the songs played by this ball will drive you mad, but thankfully it does have two volume settings. I bought this to encourage my daughter to crawl, she had been attempting to get going for a couple of weeks but her existing toys seem to offer little incentive.

She is 7 months and loves her Bright Lights Ball, the movement is smooth and the circle it travels in not too wide and always stops within in a reasonable reaching distance of her. It makes lots of different sounds, although I think she is too young to understand the shapes and animals I think for an older baby/toddler it would make a good educational toy.

I use this as an occasional toy as this prevents her getting bored of it too quickly, her eyes always light up when she sees it and within a few minutes of it being on she is off around the floor with it. It is very hard wearing, however this has made it quite heavy and the first couple of times she explored it the rolling caught her by surprise and she got a clip around the nose from it!

Recommend this is anyone with a baby who is trying to crawl, only disadvantage I know of is that my cat is terrified of it :)

 "My son's favourite toy" 2009-10-18
By Mrs. A. Butler (Lancashire)
My 8 month old adores this toy. He is completely obsessed with trying to catch the ladybird which seems to be developing his fine motor skills. He has had this toy since 5months and Im convinced it was this that has encouraged his early crawling (6 months). The songs are pretty annoying when heard 1000 times a day, but that is no different to any other musical toy...there is a volume switch though thank heavens. I absolutely recommend this toy to all babies from 5 months or when they start to roll.

"not sure what to make of it!" 2009-10-04
By Dolly
My little girl (6 and half months) is not sure what to make of this toy, all her others are wooden or fabric/cuddly toys and so far she's just taking this one in!! I think she might get the hang of it eventually, but despite her outgoing personality and energetic nature she isn't thrilled when she sees this toy! I am pleased I got it for her though, and I think that most children will get something out of it. I would recommend it over other plastic toys I have seen.

I enjoyed this toy. Sadly my baby didn't get the hang of it. I suspect it's like a lot of toys- they are well designed and made- and some babies will love them and some won't. And you won't be able to know this until after you have bought them.

LeapFrog Hug & Learn Baby Tad

LeapFrog Hug & Learn Baby Tad

List Price :$£21.99
Price :£12.99
You Save :-£5.50

How's it going? Have a nice time i find Coming Soon I find this from Amazon I will That interes, You that Agree?. What better way is there to introduce a child to learning? Baby Tad is an adorable, soft and cuddly frog who talks and sings and teaches shapes, colours and songs at the same time. He comes brightly coloured with flashing lights, friendly smiley face and a high, chirpy voice and sings six well-known and well-loved songs, including "Hickory Dickory Dock", "If You're Happy and You Know it Clap Your Hands", "Itsy Bitsy Spider", "Oh Where, Oh Where has my Little Dog Gone?", "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" and "Baa Baa Black Sheep".

Turn him on and he'll say "Hi I'm Baby Tad, Lets Sing" and begin his enthusiastic play. In "Daytime" play mode, babies can press the smiley shapes on his bib has six buttons for a response. Babies are encouraged to press the button which is lit, and are rewarded with enthusiastic greetings and songs. Baby Tad also says cute phrases that babies will love at random times, such as "Peekaboo, I see you" and "Lets Snuggle". Press, or kiss the pink lip button on his cheek and Baby Tad kisses back, saying "mmmwahh, I love you!"

Possibly the most useful feature on the new and improved Baby Tad is the brand new "Night-time" phrase, a brilliant idea for babies who like familiar songs to go to sleep to. This mode is calming rather than interactive. Baby Tad can be programmed play up to six minutes of soothing classical music and lights, simply by pressing his hand, once, twice, and so on, up to six times for six minutes. He will announce "one minute to night night, two minutes to night night" etc: and the music then plays for the allotted time and stops without ceremony, a comforting series of tunes which will help lull little ones to sleep.

While using the toy, children can develop perceptual and reasoning skills; motor skills are also enhanced as children physically push a flashing shape, song and "kiss" buttons. Playing with Baby Tad also provides opportunities for exploration, creativity and social development, all necessary ingredients for children's learning. The toy is accompanied by an excellent parents' guide and instruction manual which is straightforward and easy to follow, has a handy volume control on the battery box and comes complete with three AA batteries.

This toy is recommended by the manufacturer for toddlers aged nine months and over. --Susan Naylor Bye Bye

Although it took a little while for our son to grow into his toy as we perhaps bought it too early (he is now 14 months), he now loves it. At night I put it into his bed with him after his feed and he listens to the classical music while he winds down to go to sleep. Then in the morning, I pop it back into his bed with him and he plays with it and presses all the buttons while I wake up myself. All in all it has proved invaluable and has helped him to get into a good bedtime routine. Really pleased with it.
