 "Nice toy" 2010-03-22
By S. Brockett (UK)
This is a nice toy with lots going on, but it didn't capture my 6 month old grandson's attention as much as I thought it would looking at other reviews before I bought it. He prefers to look through a book or bang a couple of plastic cups together!

 "Roll me!!" 2009-11-10

Firstly I will say the songs played by this ball will drive you mad, but thankfully it does have two volume settings. I bought this to encourage my daughter to crawl, she had been attempting to get going for a couple of weeks but her existing toys seem to offer little incentive.

She is 7 months and loves her Bright Lights Ball, the movement is smooth and the circle it travels in not too wide and always stops within in a reasonable reaching distance of her. It makes lots of different sounds, although I think she is too young to understand the shapes and animals I think for an older baby/toddler it would make a good educational toy.

I use this as an occasional toy as this prevents her getting bored of it too quickly, her eyes always light up when she sees it and within a few minutes of it being on she is off around the floor with it. It is very hard wearing, however this has made it quite heavy and the first couple of times she explored it the rolling caught her by surprise and she got a clip around the nose from it!

Recommend this is anyone with a baby who is trying to crawl, only disadvantage I know of is that my cat is terrified of it :)

 "My son's favourite toy" 2009-10-18
By Mrs. A. Butler (Lancashire)
My 8 month old adores this toy. He is completely obsessed with trying to catch the ladybird which seems to be developing his fine motor skills. He has had this toy since 5months and Im convinced it was this that has encouraged his early crawling (6 months). The songs are pretty annoying when heard 1000 times a day, but that is no different to any other musical toy...there is a volume switch though thank heavens. I absolutely recommend this toy to all babies from 5 months or when they start to roll.

"not sure what to make of it!" 2009-10-04
By Dolly
My little girl (6 and half months) is not sure what to make of this toy, all her others are wooden or fabric/cuddly toys and so far she's just taking this one in!! I think she might get the hang of it eventually, but despite her outgoing personality and energetic nature she isn't thrilled when she sees this toy! I am pleased I got it for her though, and I think that most children will get something out of it. I would recommend it over other plastic toys I have seen.

"Not a success for us" 2009-09-04
By Dr. Nicholas P. G. Davies (Halifax, UK)
I enjoyed this toy. Sadly my baby didn't get the hang of it. I suspect it's like a lot of toys- they are well designed and made- and some babies will love them and some won't. And you won't be able to know this until after you have bought them.
