I was disappointed when this toy arrived because of the high rating it had in Amazon. It is tiny and not a lot of fun as the bits just come out the holes at random. My daughter did not take to it at all. It is also quite hard and dangerous in the hands of an 18month if thrown around.wooden peek a boo ball

I think this a very sweet little toy, it is smaller than I imagined - but then again it is really quite cheap for a well made wooden toy. Its lovely and tactile with very cute little faces. The size actually works in its favour - great for chucking in your pocket or handbag for out and about. I don't really understand the criticism about it being dangerous if thrown - its a wooden ball - what do you expect? Any hard wooden object is going to be dangerous if thrown about, my son has wooden cars and rattles ... in fact many wooden toys as we try to avoid the hideous plastic stuff churned out in mass, yet do not worry about him lobbing them around! He is the youngest of 5 and I have yet to find throwing toys around the house an issue. I think this is a great toy and so does my son.

This ball is a lot smaller than I imagined that it would be. However, saying that, it is so sweet, and let's face it, it is for small babies. It feels lovely in your hand, and is very well made. My 8 month old grandson can pick it up and hold it, so perhaps it's a good job it's so small. I can understand about it being dangerous to be thrown indoors. My grandson is happy to try and crawl after the ball when it is rolled in front of him. But I would probably put it away for the next child before it is treated like other balls, as it could cause some damage. On the whole, it is a lovely little smooth ball, fabulous workmanship has gone into it. And it's designed for little babies I would say. So it is a 'gentle & cute' product.

i brought this toy for my 18 month old son having read good reviews about it to carry around in his bag when out and about. He really liked it at first, however we soon discovered that as its made from solid wood, it is very dangerous when thrown aimlessly by him for someone to catch! Its also very dangerous indoors, as he has thrown it towards the tv and display cabinet at times, therefore i have had to get rid of it now as it was proving to be rock hard, not suitable for group play either incase one of the children were to throw it and seriously hurt someone.
